Jureme Tree or White Jurema

Mimosa hostilis (Mart.) Benth

mimosa-hostilis

Mimosa of the Pea Family

Location: Mexico, South America, Primarily Brazil

The Mimosa plant can be found native to dry climates and is most abundant in Brazil. It is a spiny, lanky, small tree which sprouts white flowers of pleasant fragrance surrounded by needle-like leaves.

The root of the Mimosa tree contains the potent alkaloid Nigerine, which has been proven to be the same as N,N-dimethyltryptamine, or DMT. The bark has been used to derive a surplus amount of DMT as well.
