Helicostylis Trecul of the Mulberry Family
Aka Helicostylis pedunculata
Location: South America, Central America
Takini is a tree that grows in Central and South American countries. This plant can grow up to 75 feet high and is considered one of the forest giants of the areas. There are pistillate flowers with cauliflorous-like heads. The bark is a gray-brown color and the leaves are a dark green, oval shape and almost leather-like look.
The barks of the tree can be extracted, creating a resin like oil that provides effects similar to Cannabis sativa. Takini is a Central Nervous System depressant. It also has hallucinogenic properties.
