Location: Warm Regions of South America (Grows Abundantly in the Andes, Ecuador and Peru)

San Pedro cacti are some of the most well-known hallucinogens on the planet. Although they are typically found only in South America, they are popularly understood worldwide and their effects known to be legendary. They grow tall, reaching heights of 9 to 20 feet and typically have 6 to 8 ribs. They become darker green in color the older they get. The cactus produces sweet smelling flowers that are white, and either brown, red or green in color. The flowers bloom on top of the cactus at the ends of the branches at the crown.

San Pedro has been proven to contain rich quantities of mescaline. There are other alkaloids present as well including 3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamine, 3-methoxy-tyramine, as well as others.
