Siberian Motherwort – Natural Marijuana Substitute

Leonurus L. of the Mint Family

leonurus-sibiricus

Leonurus sibiricus

Location: China, Russia, Siberia (and East Asia), Central America, South America

This is a tall herb for its class, growing more than 6 feet in some cases all from a single stem. Many small, very thin branches form and small violet flowers bloom at the ends of the stems. It has been referred as T’uei by the ancient Chinese.

Leonurus is commonly harvested, leaves dried and then smoked like Marijuana. In Central and South America, it is common to see Siberian Motherwort used as an alternative to Cannabis altogether. It also has a variety of ancient Chinese medicinal uses.
